ABOUT US
My name is Valerie Harrison and I run Dognostics K9 Training School. I am an advanced canine instructor who has completed a recognised dog training qualification which is OCN accredited. I am also a member of the association of Pet Dog trainers' number 00847.Whereby all members of the APDT have been assessed according to a strict code of practice and have agreed to abide by kind and fair principles of training. We do not use coercive or punitive techniques or equipment.
At Dognostics we use reward-based methods of training, which is either food, toys or praise, and the emphasis is on fun for both handler and dog. Training is all about teaching you the right techniques and methods to communicate more effectively. We encourage handlers to be calm and consistent when training at Dognostics thereby, improving on the good behaviours given by the dog and eliminating those that are unacceptable.
We hold continuous classes throughout the year as this we believe allows both the dog and handler to learn at their own pace, although we do close prior to Bank holidays.
For those dogs which find classes stressful arrangements can be made to see them on an individual basis in order to offer additional tuition to overcome any difficulties and problems that the dog or handler may have. This can be either organised at one of the two venues or if preferred a personal home visit can arranged to suit
